Robert Graves teaches theatre history and dramatic literature to both undergraduates and graduate students. His publications include books on early-modern English theatre and avant-garde Asian drama, in addition to many articles on Greek drama, Elizabethan staging, Irish theatre, and Samuel Beckett. His book, Lighting the Shakespearean Stage, recently won the Sohmer-Hall Prize from the International Shakespeare Globe Centre in London for the best book published in 1999 on sixteenth and seventeenth-century English stagecraft, and received honorable mention by the Barnard Hewitt Award in theatrical history from the American Society for Theatre Research.
